Project admin discussion

• Phase 6b NTP coming soon
• Approach to PM discussion
  • I shared the "all in GitHub" approach for editing for JOSS
  • It's a somewhat different scope, but the basic idea is to do as much asynchronous online as possible using GitHub
  • Folks like this idea - basically everything becomes an issue
  • We'll still have our meetings, but Tuesday meetings will be scheduled for specific 6b tasks:
    • vehicle type model #438
    • conda forge update #424
    • airspeed velocity benchmarking update (Newman)
    • visualizer (Clint)
    • orca becomes an official dependency #437
  • And leftover time can be for issue resolution / support
  • Thursday meeting will remain for project admin as well
  • We will self assign issues - Jeff, Clint, me - and manage our support budgets
  • Issue assignment on a first come first serve basis
  • We'll check in periodically on budget
  • And if issue responses are more than a couple hours, then we'll comment and pause and discuss with the partners before proceeding with more LOE
  • Each contractor will add their phase 6b scoped tasks to the wiki
  • We'll drop use of Milestones since they haven't been very useful
  • We're going to try this approach for a few months and see how it goes
  • We'll want to create a few more issue labels for the various issue statuses
  • We decided each issue has one owner so we need to revise #431
  • I'll tidy up the issues, wiki, etc. to get this approach started

  • Cancelled 8/12 meeting
  • We'll create a schedule for upcoming Tuesday calls based on the scoped 6b tasks
