Skeleton Extension (Theoretical and Untested)

Psymon edited this page Oct 16, 2023 · 3 revisions

The following section is extremely theoretical and has virtually no testing. Feel free to contact *&#7932 on the Modding Discord if you manage to obtain actual results in game or make progress in this regard. This tutorial assumes you are using Asterisk's importer-exporter plugin

Pick the skeleton you want to extend with "borrowed bones". For demonstration purposes Azure Starlord is shown.

Pick the doner skeleton. In this case the Xeno'Jiiva Male Armour.

Find the last common bone. In this case Bone.003 on the doner matches Bone.003 on the recipient.

In the hierarchy identify the root bones that parent all of the bones you want to transplant.

Select only the parent bones.

Clear Parent while keeping the transformation.

Clean the new bone trees as needed (removing bones you don't want to transplant from them. In this case we didn't need to do so.

Paste it on the recipient scene.

First select the child bone.

Then select the parent bone. And use the Set Parent Command.

This is much easier if the meshes are hidden however as stray selection will mess the parenting process.
