Nextail has been working for some 7 years on solving complex problems regarding logistics and retail by using technology. It’s not the first hiring process we have been tackling together and having evolved from 4 to 100 employees and beyond, it won’t be the last one.
They are looking now for a Product Manager that has some solid experience to take charge of their internal platform. This will be a position with real projection and a challenge big enough to learn and grown from day one.

You will be joining a young and dynamic team, being responsible for one part of the internal product. Your focus will be centered around impacting the tools and workload of your colleagues, creating, improving and automating processes when necessary.
Some technical background will be key to have a good understanding with the Operations team and discuss and prioritize complex technical issues.
As any PM role, communication of your decisions will be key. There are multiple stakeholders to whom you will need to communicate on a daily basis. Furthermore, you will be able to impact the choosing of the tools that will be added to the internal product.
Nextail is a B2B enterprise, so you will need to keep a balance between product culture and the requirements of the clientes. As a PM, everyone will expect from you to be one of the guardians of this culture. As always, cooperation and transparency will allow multiple teams to reach milestones and to improve as an organization.
You will meet most of your colleagues and their main tasks. You will be assigned to a squad related to internal operations, this will allow you to understand many of the problems you will face in your position.
You will have a better understanding of the company, being able to understand some of your users better. Anytime you will come across a possible point of improvement, they will expect you to ideate a proposed solution.
You will be totally integrated into the Product Team and you will be part of the decisions that will impact many departments. You would have been able to define a proper roadmap for your functionalities in contact with the development and product team.
As we have said before, communication will be important. You will be in contact with other Product Team members, other squads and leaders across the organization. Most of your tasks will be defined with other departments of Nextail, as you will need to understand their points of view and necessities.
Your squad will be formed by three people apart from you, mainly from the Engineering and Data Team, plus some time from a designer.
Nextail has a startup mindset, that’s why you will be encouraged to ask questions and solve problems on your own. They will support you with all the training and tools that you need but no one is going to manage your time.

- Blanca Lanaspa (VP of Product): Blanca firmly believes that cohesion and alignment are key for success. As a VP, she is responsible for objectives, strategy and product delivery. She is passionate about Product culture and quality.
- Ros Mayo (Senior Product Manager): Ros has been in Nextail for more than two years as responsible for some of the most important parts of the product.
- Carlos Seguín-Lozano (Senior Product Manager): a member of the Manfred community. He joined Nextail a few months ago to share his huge experience and product knowledge.
They support flexibility, while preventing teamwork from being harmed. Their usual schedule goes between 10:00 and 17:00, Spanish timezone, which is when the whole team will try to be available.
That said, common sense is always applied so that conciliation is maximized. For instance, many members of the team go to pick up their children from school and every squad adjusts the schedule a little if it fits everyone’s needs.
Nextail started as a remote company, and continues to offer flexibility in this sense. You can be based wherever you want as long as you have a solid internet connection, a perk that is more essential than ever before.
They offer the possibility to work from their Madrid office whenever you want, which is located right next to Nuevos Ministerios. Nowadays, it is open with some restrictions, but if you do not have a comfortable atmosphere to work from home, you will be more than welcome there, of course complying with the sanitary measures.
If you join Nextail, you shall keep in mind that for them a Product Manager does have to interact with various workmates and departments. As a consequence, it becomes more important to go to the office for meetings or onsite events.

Theoretical and practical basis specifically as a Product Manager, and the wider the better. It will be expected from you a know-how on the key aspects of the position from your own experience, not just on things you heard somewhere.
- The rhythm is quite fast at Nextail and, even though you will count with a security net, the transition will probably not be slow. They need an autonomous person ASAP.
- Experience working in technical and product teams.
- You will need to have a technical basis to fluently speak the language of developer. Thus, you will simplify complex technical concepts, challenge the technical team, structure tasks and issues and prioritize their actions.
- A very high level of English. Many of the stakeholders are native speakers, and you will need to negotiate and convince in the language of Shakespeare.
- A proactive person who identifies problems and proposes solutions.
- You should feel comfortable with a leadership role, while not having a position with a specific authority.
- Learning must be one of your mantras.
- Good communication skills, both in English and Spanish.
- Comfortability using “your left and right hand” will be crucial.
- It would be fantastic if you had previous experience in retail. While it is not indispensable, if you have never worked in this sector before you will need to show interest and try to learn quickly.
This is their wishlist but, above all, something that is valued at Nextail is a creative mind while solving problems and providing solutions to complex issues.
Such an essential position will be accordingly rewarded:
- Gross annual remuneration of €43-50K + bonus, reaching a maximum 8.33% of the salary base
