[ Upstream commit a26ac6c1bed951b2066cc4b2257facd919e35c0b ] In isif_probe(), there is a while loop to get the ISIF base address and linearization table0 and table1 address. In the loop body, the function platform_get_resource() is called to get the resource. If platform_get_resource() returns NULL, the loop is terminated and the execution goes to 'fail_nobase_res'. Suppose the loop is terminated at the first iteration because platform_get_resource() returns NULL and the execution goes to 'fail_nobase_res'. Given that there is another while loop at 'fail_nobase_res' and i equals to 0, one iteration of the second while loop will be executed. However, the second while loop does not check the return value of platform_get_resource(). This can cause a NULL pointer dereference bug if the return value is a NULL pointer. This patch avoids the above issue by adding a check in the second while loop after the call to platform_get_resource(). [ Upstream commit 1eb8d7387908022951792a46fa040ad3942b3b08 ] Flushing the workqueue can cause operations to happen which might call gfs2_log_reserve(), or get stuck waiting for locks taken by such operations. gfs2_log_reserve() can io_schedule(). If this happens, it will never wake because the only thing which can wake it is gfs2_logd() which was already stopped. This causes umount of a gfs2 filesystem to wedge permanently if, for example, the umount immediately follows a large delete operation. When this occured, the following stack trace was obtained from the umount command [<ffffffff81087968>] flush_workqueue+0x1c8/0x520 [<ffffffffa0666e29>] gfs2_make_fs_ro+0x69/0x160 [gfs2] [<ffffffffa0667279>] gfs2_put_super+0xa9/0x1c0 [gfs2] [<ffffffff811b7edf>] generic_shutdown_super+0x6f/0x100 [<ffffffff811b7ff7>] kill_block_super+0x27/0x70 [<ffffffffa0656a71>] gfs2_kill_sb+0x71/0x80 [gfs2] [<ffffffff811b792b>] deactivate_locked_super+0x3b/0x70 [<ffffffff811b79b9>] deactivate_super+0x59/0x60 [<ffffffff811d2998>] cleanup_mnt+0x58/0x80 [<ffffffff811d2a12>] __cleanup_mnt+0x12/0x20 [<ffffffff8108c87d>] task_work_run+0x7d/0xa0 [<ffffffff8106d7d9>] exit_to_usermode_loop+0x73/0x98 [<ffffffff81003961>] syscall_return_slowpath+0x41/0x50 [<ffffffff815a594c>] int_ret_from_sys_call+0x25/0x8f [<ffffffffffffffff>] 0xffffffffffffffff Signed-off-by: Tim Smith <[email protected]> Signed-off-by: Mark Syms <[email protected]> Signed-off-by: Bob Peterson <[email protected]> Signed-off-by: Sasha Levin <[email protected]>
[ Upstream commit 32ae592036d7aeaabcccb2b1715373a68639a768 ] Shifting the u8 value[3] by an int can lead to sign-extension overflow. [ Upstream commit 51fbf14f2528a8c6401290e37f1c893a2412f1d3 ] The only use of KEXEC_BACKUP_SRC_END is as an argument to walk_system_ram_res(): int crash_load_segments(struct kimage *image) { ... walk_system_ram_res(KEXEC_BACKUP_SRC_START, KEXEC_BACKUP_SRC_END, image, determine_backup_region); walk_system_ram_res() expects "start, end" arguments that are inclusive, i.e., the range to be walked includes both the start and end addresses. [ Upstream commit 605b3bec73cbd74b4ac937b580cd0b47d1300484 ] spidev will make a big fuss if a device tree node binds a device by using "spidev" as the node's compatible property. However, the logic for this isn't looking for "spidev" in the compatible, but rather checking that the device is NOT compatible with spidev's list of devices. This causes a false positive if a device not named "rohm,dh2228fv", etc. binds to spidev, even if a means other than putting "spidev" in the device tree was used. commit 94bb804e1e6f0a9a77acf20d7c70ea141c6c821e upstream. A number of our uaccess routines ('__arch_clear_user()' and '__arch_copy_{in,from,to}_user()') fail to re-enable PAN if they encounter an unhandled fault whilst accessing userspace. For CPUs implementing both hardware PAN and UAO, this bug has no effect when both extensions are in use by the kernel. For CPUs implementing hardware PAN but not UAO, this means that a kernel using hardware PAN may execute portions of code with PAN inadvertently disabled, opening us up to potential security vulnerabilities that rely on userspace access from within the kernel which would usually be prevented by this mechanism. In other words, parts of the kernel run the same way as they would on a CPU without PAN implemented/emulated at all. For CPUs not implementing hardware PAN and instead relying on software emulation via 'CONFIG_ARM64_SW_TTBR0_PAN=y', the impact is unfortunately much worse. Calling 'schedule()' with software PAN disabled means that the next task will execute in the kernel using the page-table and ASID of the previous process even after 'switch_mm()', since the actual hardware switch is deferred until return to userspace. At this point, or if there is a intermediate call to 'uaccess_enable()', the page-table and ASID of the new process are installed. Sadly, due to the changes introduced by KPTI, this is not an atomic operation and there is a very small window (two instructions) where the CPU is configured with the page-table of the old task and the ASID of the new task; a speculative access in this state is disastrous because it would corrupt the TLB entries for the new task with mappings from the previous address space. As Pavel explains: | I was able to reproduce memory corruption problem on Broadcom's SoC | ARMv8-A like this: | | Enable software perf-events with PERF_SAMPLE_CALLCHAIN so userland's | stack is accessed and copied. | | The test program performed the following on every CPU and forking | many processes: | | unsigned long *map = mmap(NULL, PAGE_SIZE, PROT_READ|PROT_WRITE, | MAP_SHARED | MAP_ANONYMOUS, -1, 0); | map[0] = getpid(); | sched_yield(); | if (map[0] != getpid()) { | fprintf(stderr, "Corruption detected!"); | } | munmap(map, PAGE_SIZE); | | From time to time I was getting map[0] to contain pid for a | different process. Ensure that PAN is re-enabled when returning after an unhandled user fault from our uaccess routines. Commit 56e94ea132bb ("fs: ocfs2: fix possible null-pointer dereferences in ocfs2_xa_prepare_entry()") introduces a regression that fail to create directory with mount option user_xattr and acl. Actually the reported NULL pointer dereference case can be correctly handled by loc->xl_ops->xlo_add_entry(), so revert it. [ Upstream commit a977e59c0c67c9d492bb16677ce66d67cae0ebd8 ] Some Asus laptops that have an airplane-mode indicator LED, also have the WMI WLAN user bit set, and the following bits in their DSDT: Scope (_SB) { (...) Device (ATKD) { (...) Method (WMNB, 3, Serialized) { (...) If (LEqual (IIA0, 0x00010002)) { OWGD (IIA1) Return (One) } } } } So when asus-wmi uses ASUS_WMI_DEVID_WLAN_LED (0x00010002) to store the wlan state, it drives the airplane-mode indicator LED (through the call to OWGD) in an inverted fashion: the LED is ON when airplane mode is OFF (since wlan is ON), and vice-versa. This commit creates a quirk to not register a RFKill switch at all for these laptops, to allow the asus-wireless driver to drive the airplane mode LED correctly through the ASHS ACPI device. It also adds a match to that quirk for the Asus X555UB, which is affected by this problem. [ Upstream commit a961a285b479977fa21f12f71cd62f28adaba17c ] The Asus X456UF has an airplane-mode indicator LED and the WMI WLAN user bit set, so asus-wmi uses ASUS_WMI_DEVID_WLAN_LED (0x00010002) to store the wlan state, which has a side-effect of driving the airplane mode indicator LED in an inverted fashion. quirk_no_rfkill prevents asus-wmi from registering RFKill switches at all for this laptop and allows asus-wireless to drive the LED through the ASHS ACPI device. Linux/atkbd after a clean start will get the following code on VOLUME_UP key: {0xe0, 0x30, 0xe0, 0xb0}. After Windows, the same key will generate this codes: {0xe1, 0x23, 0xe0, 0x30, 0xe0, 0xb0}. commit 1cb0d2aee26335d0bccf29100c7bed00ebece851 upstream. Upstream commit 58e75155009c ("HID: core: move Usage Page concatenation to Main item") adds support for Usage Page item after Usage ID items (such as keyboards manufactured by Primax). Usage Page concatenation in Main item works well for following report descriptor patterns: USAGE_PAGE (Keyboard) 05 07 USAGE_MINIMUM (Keyboard LeftControl) 19 E0 USAGE_MAXIMUM (Keyboard Right GUI) 29 E7 LOGICAL_MINIMUM (0) 15 00 LOGICAL_MAXIMUM (1) 25 01 REPORT_SIZE (1) 75 01 REPORT_COUNT (8) 95 08 INPUT (Data,Var,Abs) 81 02 ------------- USAGE_MINIMUM (Keyboard LeftControl) 19 E0 USAGE_MAXIMUM (Keyboard Right GUI) 29 E7 LOGICAL_MINIMUM (0) 15 00 LOGICAL_MAXIMUM (1) 25 01 REPORT_SIZE (1) 75 01 REPORT_COUNT (8) 95 08 USAGE_PAGE (Keyboard) 05 07 INPUT (Data,Var,Abs) 81 02 But it makes the parser act wrong for the following report descriptor pattern(such as some Gamepads): USAGE_PAGE (Button) 05 09 USAGE (Button 1) 09 01 USAGE (Button 2) 09 02 USAGE (Button 4) 09 04 USAGE (Button 5) 09 05 USAGE (Button 7) 09 07 USAGE (Button 8) 09 08 USAGE (Button 14) 09 0E USAGE (Button 15) 09 0F USAGE (Button 13) 09 0D USAGE_PAGE (Consumer Devices) 05 0C USAGE (Back) 0a 24 02 USAGE (HomePage) 0a 23 02 LOGICAL_MINIMUM (0) 15 00 LOGICAL_MAXIMUM (1) 25 01 REPORT_SIZE (1) 75 01 REPORT_COUNT (11) 95 0B INPUT (Data,Var,Abs) 81 02 With Usage Page concatenation in Main item, parser recognizes all the 11 Usages as consumer keys, it is not the HID device's real intention. This patch checks whether Usage Page is really defined after Usage ID items by comparing usage page using status. Usage Page concatenation on currently defined Usage Page will always do in local parsing when Usage ID items encountered. When Main item is parsing, concatenation will do again with last defined Usage Page if this page has not been used in the previous usages concatenation. commit 16245db1489cd9aa579506f64afeeeb13d825a93 upstream. The HP WMI calls may take up to 128 bytes of data as input, and the AML methods implementing the WMI calls, declare a couple of fields for accessing input in different sizes, specifycally the HWMC method contains: CreateField (Arg1, 0x80, 0x0400, D128) Even though we do not use any of the WMI command-types which need a buffer of this size, the APCI interpreter still tries to create it as it is declared in generoc code at the top of the HWMC method which runs before the code looks at which command-type is requested. This results in many of these errors on many different HP laptop models: [ 14.459261] ACPI Error: Field [D128] at 1152 exceeds Buffer [NULL] size 160 (bits) (20170303/dsopcode-236) [ 14.459268] ACPI Error: Method parse/execution failed [\HWMC] (Node ffff8edcc61507f8), AE_AML_BUFFER_LIMIT (20170303/psparse-543) [ 14.459279] ACPI Error: Method parse/execution failed [\_SB.WMID.WMAA] (Node ffff8edcc61523c0), AE_AML_BUFFER_LIMIT (20170303/psparse-543) This commit increases the size of the data element of the bios_args struct to 128 bytes fixing these errors. commit 7cf64b18b0b96e751178b8d0505d8466ff5a448f upstream. vt_in_use() dereferences console_driver->ttys[i] without proper locking. This is broken because the tty can be closed and freed concurrently. We could fix this by using 'READ_ONCE(console_driver->ttys[i]) != NULL' and skipping the check of tty_struct::count. But, looking at console_driver->ttys[i] isn't really appropriate anyway because even if it is NULL the tty can still be in the process of being closed. Instead, fix it by making vt_in_use() require console_lock() and check whether the vt is allocated and has port refcount > 1. This works since following the patch "vt: vt_ioctl: fix VT_DISALLOCATE freeing in-use virtual console" the port refcount is incremented while the vt is open. Reproducer (very unreliable, but it worked for me after a few minutes): #include <fcntl.h> #include <linux/vt.h> int main() { int fd, nproc; struct vt_stat state; char ttyname[16]; fd = open("/dev/tty10", O_RDONLY); for (nproc = 1; nproc < 8; nproc *= 2) fork(); for (;;) { sprintf(ttyname, "/dev/tty%d", rand() % 8); close(open(ttyname, O_RDONLY)); ioctl(fd, VT_GETSTATE, &state); } } KASAN report: BUG: KASAN: use-after-free in vt_in_use drivers/tty/vt/vt_ioctl.c:48 [inline] BUG: KASAN: use-after-free in vt_ioctl+0x1ad3/0x1d70 drivers/tty/vt/vt_ioctl.c:657 Read of size 4 at addr ffff888065722468 by task syz-vt2/132 CPU: 0 PID: 132 Comm: syz-vt2 Not tainted 5.6.0-rc5-00130-g089b6d3654916 #13 Hardware name: QEMU Standard PC (i440FX + PIIX, 1996), BIOS ?-20191223_100556-anatol 04/01/2014 Call Trace: [...] vt_in_use drivers/tty/vt/vt_ioctl.c:48 [inline] vt_ioctl+0x1ad3/0x1d70 drivers/tty/vt/vt_ioctl.c:657 tty_ioctl+0x9db/0x11b0 drivers/tty/tty_io.c:2660 [...] Allocated by task 136: [...] kzalloc include/linux/slab.h:669 [inline] alloc_tty_struct+0x96/0x8a0 drivers/tty/tty_io.c:2982 tty_init_dev+0x23/0x350 drivers/tty/tty_io.c:1334 tty_open_by_driver drivers/tty/tty_io.c:1987 [inline] tty_open+0x3ca/0xb30 drivers/tty/tty_io.c:2035 [...] Freed by task 41: [...] kfree+0xbf/0x200 mm/slab.c:3757 free_tty_struct+0x8d/0xb0 drivers/tty/tty_io.c:177 release_one_tty+0x22d/0x2f0 drivers/tty/tty_io.c:1468 process_one_work+0x7f1/0x14b0 kernel/workqueue.c:2264 worker_thread+0x8b/0xc80 kernel/workqueue.c:2410 [...] Fixes: 4001d7b ("vt: push down the tty lock so we can see what is left to tackle") Cc: <[email protected]> # v3.4+ Acked-by: Jiri Slaby <[email protected]> Signed-off-by: Eric Biggers <[email protected]> Link: https://lore.kernel.org/r/[email protected] Signed-off-by: Greg Kroah-Hartman <[email protected]>

[ Upstream commit 9f6f852550d0e1b7735651228116ae9d300f69b3 ] 'nj_setup' in netjet.c might fail with -EIO and in this case 'card->irq' is initialized and is bigger than zero. A subsequent call to 'nj_release' will free the irq that has not been requested. Fix this bug by deleting the previous assignment to 'card->irq' and just keep the assignment before 'request_irq'. The KASAN's log reveals it: [ 3.354615 ] WARNING: CPU: 0 PID: 1 at kernel/irq/manage.c:1826 free_irq+0x100/0x480 [ 3.355112 ] Modules linked in: [ 3.355310 ] CPU: 0 PID: 1 Comm: swapper/0 Not tainted 5.13.0-rc1-00144-g25a1298726e #13 [ 3.355816 ] Hardware name: QEMU Standard PC (Q35 + ICH9, 2009), BIOS rel-1.12.0-59-gc9ba5276e321-prebuilt.qemu.org 04/01/2014 [ 3.356552 ] RIP: 0010:free_irq+0x100/0x480 [ 3.356820 ] Code: 6e 08 74 6f 4d 89 f4 e8 5e ac 09 00 4d 8b 74 24 18 4d 85 f6 75 e3 e8 4f ac 09 00 8b 75 c8 48 c7 c7 78 c1 2e 85 e8 e0 cf f5 ff <0f> 0b 48 8b 75 c0 4c 89 ff e8 72 33 0b 03 48 8b 43 40 4c 8b a0 80 [ 3.358012 ] RSP: 0000:ffffc90000017b48 EFLAGS: 00010082 [ 3.358357 ] RAX: 0000000000000000 RBX: ffff888104dc8000 RCX: 0000000000000000 [ 3.358814 ] RDX: ffff8881003c8000 RSI: ffffffff8124a9e6 RDI: 00000000ffffffff [ 3.359272 ] RBP: ffffc90000017b88 R08: 0000000000000000 R09: 0000000000000000 [ 3.359732 ] R10: ffffc900000179f0 R11: 0000000000001d04 R12: 0000000000000000 [ 3.360195 ] R13: ffff888107dc6000 R14: ffff888107dc6928 R15: ffff888104dc80a8 [ 3.360652 ] FS: 0000000000000000(0000) GS:ffff88817bc00000(0000) knlGS:0000000000000000 [ 3.361170 ] CS: 0010 DS: 0000 ES: 0000 CR0: 0000000080050033 [ 3.361538 ] CR2: 0000000000000000 CR3: 000000000582e000 CR4: 00000000000006f0 [ 3.362003 ] DR0: 0000000000000000 DR1: 0000000000000000 DR2: 0000000000000000 [ 3.362175 ] DR3: 0000000000000000 DR6: 00000000fffe0ff0 DR7: 0000000000000400 [ 3.362175 ] Call Trace: [ 3.362175 ] nj_release+0x51/0x1e0 [ 3.362175 ] nj_probe+0x450/0x950 [ 3.362175 ] ? pci_device_remove+0x110/0x110 [ 3.362175 ] local_pci_probe+0x45/0xa0 [ 3.362175 ] pci_device_probe+0x12b/0x1d0 [ 3.362175 ] really_probe+0x2a9/0x610 [ 3.362175 ] driver_probe_device+0x90/0x1d0 [ 3.362175 ] ? mutex_lock_nested+0x1b/0x20 [ 3.362175 ] device_driver_attach+0x68/0x70 [ 3.362175 ] __driver_attach+0x124/0x1b0 [ 3.362175 ] ? device_driver_attach+0x70/0x70 [ 3.362175 ] bus_for_each_dev+0xbb/0x110 [ 3.362175 ] ? rdinit_setup+0x45/0x45 [ 3.362175 ] driver_attach+0x27/0x30 [ 3.362175 ] bus_add_driver+0x1eb/0x2a0 [ 3.362175 ] driver_register+0xa9/0x180 [ 3.362175 ] __pci_register_driver+0x82/0x90 [ 3.362175 ] ? w6692_init+0x38/0x38 [ 3.362175 ] nj_init+0x36/0x38 [ 3.362175 ] do_one_initcall+0x7f/0x3d0 [ 3.362175 ] ? rdinit_setup+0x45/0x45 [ 3.362175 ] ? rcu_read_lock_sched_held+0x4f/0x80 [ 3.362175 ] kernel_init_freeable+0x2aa/0x301 [ 3.362175 ] ? rest_init+0x2c0/0x2c0 [ 3.362175 ] kernel_init+0x18/0x190 [ 3.362175 ] ? rest_init+0x2c0/0x2c0 [ 3.362175 ] ? rest_init+0x2c0/0x2c0 [ 3.362175 ] ret_from_fork+0x1f/0x30 [ 3.362175 ] Kernel panic - not syncing: panic_on_warn set ...
