I'm working on a Jakarta city simulation project for my final study requirement. This field is new in Indonesia. I need guide to preparing my input data. i have network data (i.e. from JOSM), population data and plan data (i.e. from Jakarta's travel survei from Indonesia's National Statistics Organization). but the data aren't ready yet.
My question is how to efficiency edit the network file until it is ready to use ? is it editing with JOSM manually one road by one road? and what is the reference to determine that my network is good enough (i.e. i currently use satelite imagery) because the network seems to have many obstacle like unused road or invalid permlanes size (i.e 0.5). my reference is South Africa case because i want to simulate Jakarta City divided as 4 region like in the South Africa case.
Second question. i have the population survey data not full census data. The indidual and household data have no exact address. So the input data must be generated manually. I know there is some data generation tools for matsim. i want to ask what is the best or easier approach to prepare my data? and is the generated data will be valid to be used as a simulation data source ?
and if you can give me a suggestion which scenario example is the best reference for simulating city public transport and multi-mode transport it will be really helpful.

Dear Rizki,
unfortunately, there is not really any standard tool (yet) to prepare the initial population, and every group uses its own methods to compensate for the (data-provider specific) problems they encounter.
I just want to make you aware that someone in Zurich is developing a MATSim Scenario for the Jakarta area:

He might be able to help you with the particular data situation in Jakarta (or even share some of the processed data he already produced?).
Best,
Thibaut
