v1.0.0 First versioned release

It seems this project is having more and more users and contributors (YAY!!). To avoid making breaking changes for anyone (which was only just averted by accident, see #38), I start to introduce versioning. This allows casual users to stick to a fixed version, while master/latest can advance to new features, which might not be tested in all depth and over time.
