z jam notes
just some thoughts for myself...
create a jam page on itch.io
digital advertising: post other game jam calendars: indiegamejams.com.
go to various game community hangout spots, find the appropriate place the ad. ~ey yo! Fighting game game jam starting this month!!!! Let’s goooo [link to itch.io page].
discord servers seem more appropriate than forums... but who knows...
it’s a little difficult to find specifically fighting game devs... (hence this organization!), because most people in game communities are just players, and most game developers don’t make fighting games...
perhaps the official RoE server and other indie fighting games, released and currently in dev, discords are good places... in addition to smash discords, for game communities.
for game game developers... I’m not so sure. :/ The Haxe discord? Game engine communities might work! Otherwise, I don’t know what indie game dev discord servers there are... Ah! Jam servers, like the weekly game jam server!
i think the main goal would simply be for someone to be so genuinely interested, that they would post it on their twitter, and hope that snowballs.
