Can't mount zfs-filesystems #19
Comments
Thanks for the bug report. Mounting the file system is not yet supported but the bug itself is interesting. |
OK, thanks for updating the FAQ :-) Feel free to contact me if i can help you (with this issue) as i am willing to contribute. |
While the ZPL isn't supported yet we should minimally make sure this doesn't crash the system. |
I'm closing this issue for now. The crash appears to have been resolved with the update to the latest code. There is no ZPL yet but that is being tracked as issue #7. |

Using zfs with Lustre, an arc_read can trigger kernel memory allocation that in turn leads to a memory reclaim callback and a deadlock within a single zfs process. This change uses spl_fstrans_mark and spl_trans_unmark to prevent the reclaim attempt and the deadlock (https://zfsonlinux.topicbox.com/groups/zfs-devel/T4db2c705ec1804ba). Hi,
I'm using debian linux on a 2.6.32 kernel.
Compiling and installing zfs and spl worked fine as well as running spl's testsuite.
Unfortunatelly trying to mount the newly create zpool or an ufs inside it my kernel spits out the following stacktrace:
