Compatibility
This section goes over specific mods which are specifically compatible or incompatible with Ashfall.
Ashfall is compatible with all tree replacers. However, only those listed in this section support the custom tree felling animations. Other tree replacers will still work with tree felling mechanics, but the animation will be less dynamic.
- Parasol Particles
- Graht Morrowind Swamp Trees (note: the huge trees added by this mod are too big to chop down)
- Vanilla-friendly West Gash Tree Replacer
- Melchior's Excellent Grazelands Acacia
Ashfall is compatible with all major land expansion mods. All campfires are replaced dynamically, all regions are assigned correct climates, all new food items can be cooked/eaten etc. You may find fewer places to purchase survival gear outside of Vvardenfell, but more merchants from these expansions will start selling survival gear over time.
Ingredients and food added by NoM works in Ashfall, however none of the needs mechanics or survival gear are compatible. A stripped down, Ashfall compatible version can be found here.
Ashfall is the direct successor to Frostwind, and has almost all of the mechanics that were in the original. As such, there is no reason to install Frostwind in addition to Ashfall.
In case you haven't noticed, Ashfall is pretty comprehensive. As such, other survival mods tend to be incompatible, and unnecessary.
Ashfall is not fully compatible with Morrowind Crafting yet, as MC adds a whole bunch of items and mechanics that are similar to those added by Ashfall, such as tents and campfires etc. However, MC food and ingredients are compatible, and there are plans to make our mods work together in the future.
Ashfall is not, I repeat, not compatible with OpenMW, nor will it be for the foreseeable future. Ashfall is a heavily scripted mod, using just about every trick in the MWSE/Lua book. OpenMW will have to fully implement lua scripting before Ashfall even has a chance at being ported over.
This mod changes timescale to go faster while in the wilderness. This does work with Ashfall, but whether the consequences of these timescale changes on your needs are something you like is up to you.
