Comments
I've generalized the title of this to streamlining of the rename process for saved objects |
No problem, thanks for considering it as a future enhancement. |

+1 Saving is very esoteric in Kibana - it feels like a gamble whether is saves and overwrites or saves and duplicates and this should be in the hands of the user because sometimes you want the on or the other. |
After creating a visualization, adding to dashboard, if you want to rename the title of the visualization, you would click:
-> edit
-> Save visualization
-> new name
Now you end up with two visualizations (expected behavior) but if edit was invoked from the dashboard, the dashboard should refer to the new name of the visualization.
Currently in order to rename a visualization, you have to perform the above, then go back into dashboard, delete the first one, add the second, then move/resize into place.
Alternatively if you could update the visualization an item on the dashboard was pointing at in place, that would be a convenient workaround.
