commit 7ff8491 upstream. Commit 6930bcb dropped the setting of the file_lock range when decoding a nlm_lock off the wire. This causes the client side grant callback to miss matching blocks and reject the lock, only to rerequest it 30s later. Add a helper function to set the file_lock range from the start and end values that the protocol uses, and have the nlm_lock decoder call that to set up the file_lock args properly. In iavf_shutdown() the adapter state is changed to __IAVF_REMOVE. In ice_shutdown() the call chain above is executed, which at some point calls iavf_remove(). However iavf_remove() expects the VF to be in one of the states __IAVF_RUNNING, __IAVF_DOWN or __IAVF_INIT_FAILED. If that's not the case it sleeps forever. So if iavf_shutdown() gets invoked before iavf_remove() the system will hang indefinitely because the adapter is already in state __IAVF_REMOVE. Fix this by returning from iavf_remove() if the state is __IAVF_REMOVE, as we already went through iavf_shutdown(). commit 7ff8491 upstream. Ido Schimmel says: ==================== bridge: Add per-{Port, VLAN} neighbor suppression Background ========== In order to minimize the flooding of ARP and ND messages in the VXLAN network, EVPN includes provisions [1] that allow participating VTEPs to suppress such messages in case they know the MAC-IP binding and can reply on behalf of the remote host. In Linux, the above is implemented in the bridge driver using a per-port option called "neigh_suppress" that was added in kernel version 4.15 [2]. Motivation ========== Some applications use ARP messages as keepalives between the application nodes in the network. This works perfectly well when two nodes are connected to the same VTEP. When a node goes down it will stop responding to ARP requests and the other node will notice it immediately. However, when the two nodes are connected to different VTEPs and neighbor suppression is enabled, the local VTEP will reply to ARP requests even after the remote node went down, until certain timers expire and the EVPN control plane decides to withdraw the MAC/IP Advertisement route for the address. Therefore, some users would like to be able to disable neighbor suppression on VLANs where such applications reside and keep it enabled on the rest. Implementation ============== The proposed solution is to allow user space to control neighbor suppression on a per-{Port, VLAN} basis, in a similar fashion to other per-port options that gained per-{Port, VLAN} counterparts such as "mcast_router". This allows users to benefit from the operational simplicity and scalability associated with shared VXLAN devices (i.e., external / collect-metadata mode), while still allowing for per-VLAN/VNI neighbor suppression control. The user interface is extended with a new "neigh_vlan_suppress" bridge port option that allows user space to enable per-{Port, VLAN} neighbor suppression on the bridge port. When enabled, the existing "neigh_suppress" option has no effect and neighbor suppression is controlled using a new "neigh_suppress" VLAN option. Example usage: # bridge link set dev vxlan0 neigh_vlan_suppress on # bridge vlan add vid 10 dev vxlan0 # bridge vlan set vid 10 dev vxlan0 neigh_suppress on Testing ======= Tested using existing bridge selftests. Added a dedicated selftest in the last patch. Patchset overview ================= Patches #1-#5 are preparations. Patch #6 adds per-{Port, VLAN} neighbor suppression support to the bridge's data path. Patches #7-#8 add the required netlink attributes to enable the feature. Patch #9 adds a selftest. iproute2 patches can be found here [3]. Changelog ========= Since RFC [4]: No changes. In the function ieee80211_tx_dequeue() there is a particular locking sequence: begin: spin_lock(&local->queue_stop_reason_lock); q_stopped = local->queue_stop_reasons[q]; spin_unlock(&local->queue_stop_reason_lock); However small the chance (increased by ftracetest), an asynchronous interrupt can occur in between of spin_lock() and spin_unlock(), and the interrupt routine will attempt to lock the same &local->queue_stop_reason_lock again. This will cause a costly reset of the CPU and the wifi device or an altogether hang in the single CPU and single core scenario. The only remaining spin_lock(&local->queue_stop_reason_lock) that did not disable interrupts was patched, which should prevent any deadlocks on the same CPU/core and the same wifi device. …ting Currently ffa_drv->remove() is called unconditionally from ffa_device_remove(). Since the driver registration doesn't check for it and allows it to be registered without .remove callback, we need to check for the presence of it before executing it from ffa_device_remove() to above a NULL pointer dereference like the one below: | Unable to handle kernel NULL pointer dereference at virtual address 0000000000000000 | Mem abort info: | ESR = 0x0000000086000004 | EC = 0x21: IABT (current EL), IL = 32 bits | SET = 0, FnV = 0 | EA = 0, S1PTW = 0 | FSC = 0x04: level 0 translation fault | user pgtable: 4k pages, 48-bit VAs, pgdp=0000000881cc8000 | [0000000000000000] pgd=0000000000000000, p4d=0000000000000000 | Internal error: Oops: 0000000086000004 [#1] PREEMPT SMP | CPU: 3 PID: 130 Comm: rmmod Not tainted 6.3.0-rc7 #6 | Hardware name: FVP Base RevC (DT) | pstate: 63402809 (nZCv daif +PAN -UAO +TCO +DIT -SSBS BTYPE=-c) | pc : 0x0 | lr : ffa_device_remove+0x20/0x2c | Call trace: | 0x0 | device_release_driver_internal+0x16c/0x260 | driver_detach+0x90/0xd0 | bus_remove_driver+0xdc/0x11c | driver_unregister+0x30/0x54 | ffa_driver_unregister+0x14/0x20 | cleanup_module+0x18/0xeec | __arm64_sys_delete_module+0x234/0x378 | invoke_syscall+0x40/0x108 | el0_svc_common+0xb4/0xf0 | do_el0_svc+0x30/0xa4 | el0_svc+0x2c/0x7c | el0t_64_sync_handler+0x84/0xf0 | el0t_64_sync+0x190/0x194 Fixes: 244f5d5 ("firmware: arm_ffa: Add missing remove callback to ffa_bus_type") Link: https://lore.kernel.org/r/[email protected] Signed-off-by: Sudeep Holla <[email protected]>

Currently, the per cpu upcall counters are allocated after the vport is created and inserted into the system. This could lead to the datapath accessing the counters before they are allocated resulting in a kernel Oops. …git/netfilter/nf Pablo Neira Ayuso says: ==================== Netfilter fixes for net The following patchset contains Netfilter fixes for net: Patch #1 unlike early commit path stage which triggers a call to abort, an explicit release of the batch is required on abort, otherwise mutex is released and commit_list remains in place. Patch #2 release mutex after nft_gc_seq_end() in commit path, otherwise async GC worker could collect expired objects. vhost_worker will call tun call backs to receive packets. If too many illegal packets arrives, tun_do_read will keep dumping packet contents. When console is enabled, it will costs much more cpu time to dump packet and soft lockup will be detected. net_ratelimit mechanism can be used to limit the dumping rate. Additionally, since this system lacks swap, the calculation of inactive/ active anonymous pages is skipped. crash> p nr_swap_pages nr_swap_pages = $1937 = { counter = 0 } As a result, ZONE_DMA32 is deemed unreclaimable and skipped, moving on to the processing of the next zone, ZONE_NORMAL, despite ZONE_DMA32 having free pages significantly exceeding the high watermark. The problem is that the pgdat->kswapd_failures hasn't been incremented. crash> px ((struct pglist_data *) 0xffff00817fffe540)->kswapd_failures $1935 = 0x0 This is because the node deemed balanced. The node balancing logic in balance_pgdat() evaluates all zones collectively. If one or more zones (e.g., ZONE_DMA32) have enough free pages to meet their watermarks, the entire node is deemed balanced. This causes balance_pgdat() to exit early before incrementing the kswapd_failures, as it considers the overall memory state acceptable, even though some zones (like ZONE_NORMAL) remain under significant pressure. The patch ensures that zone_reclaimable_pages() includes free pages (NR_FREE_PAGES) in its calculation when no other reclaimable pages are available (e.g., file-backed or anonymous pages). This change prevents zones like ZONE_DMA32, which have sufficient free pages, from being mistakenly deemed unreclaimable. By doing so, the patch ensures proper node balancing, avoids masking pressure on other zones like ZONE_NORMAL, and prevents infinite loops in throttle_direct_reclaim() caused by allow_direct_reclaim(pgdat) repeatedly returning false. The kernel hangs due to a task stuck in throttle_direct_reclaim(), caused by a node being incorrectly deemed balanced despite pressure in certain zones, such as ZONE_NORMAL. This issue arises from zone_reclaimable_pages() returning 0 for zones without reclaimable file- backed or anonymous pages, causing zones like ZONE_DMA32 with sufficient free pages to be skipped. The lack of swap or reclaimable pages results in ZONE_DMA32 being ignored during reclaim, masking pressure in other zones. Consequently, pgdat->kswapd_failures remains 0 in balance_pgdat(), preventing fallback mechanisms in allow_direct_reclaim() from being triggered, leading to an infinite loop in throttle_direct_reclaim(). This patch modifies zone_reclaimable_pages() to account for free pages (NR_FREE_PAGES) when no other reclaimable pages exist. This ensures zones with sufficient free pages are not skipped, enabling proper balancing and reclaim behavior. Nvidia's Tegra MGBE controllers require the IOMMU "Stream ID" (SID) to be written to the MGBE_WRAP_AXI_ASID0_CTRL register. The current driver is hard coded to use MGBE0's SID for all controllers. This causes softirq time outs and kernel panics when using controllers other than MGBE0. The Tegra234 SOC has 4 MGBE controllers, however Nvidia's Developer Kit only uses MGBE0 which is why the bug was not found previously. Connect Tech has many products that use 2 (or more) MGBE controllers. The solution is to read the controller's SID from the existing "iommus" device tree property. The 2nd field of the "iommus" device tree property is the controller's SID. Device tree snippet from tegra234.dtsi showing MGBE1's "iommus" property: smmu_niso0: iommu@12000000 { compatible = "nvidia,tegra234-smmu", "nvidia,smmu-500"; ... } /* MGBE1 */ ethernet@6900000 { compatible = "nvidia,tegra234-mgbe"; ... iommus = <&smmu_niso0 TEGRA234_SID_MGBE_VF1>; ... } Nvidia's arm-smmu driver reads the "iommus" property and stores the SID in the MGBE device's "fwspec" struct. The dwmac-tegra driver can access the SID using the tegra_dev_iommu_get_stream_id() helper function found in linux/iommu.h. Calling tegra_dev_iommu_get_stream_id() should not fail unless the "iommus" property is removed from the device tree or the IOMMU is disabled. While the Tegra234 SOC technically supports bypassing the IOMMU, it is not supported by the current firmware, has not been tested and not recommended. Hi Linus,
Sitting on top of the core block branch due to the polling changes, here
are the io_uring updates for the 5.16-rc1 merge window. Light on new
features (basically just the hybrid mode support), outside of that it's
just fixes, cleanups, and performance improvements. In detail:
Add ring related information to the fdinfo output (Hao)
Hybrid async mode (Hao)
Support for batched issue on block (me)
sqe error trace improvement (me)
IOPOLL efficiency improvements (Pavel)
submit state cleanups and improvements (Pavel)
Completion side improvements (Pavel)
Drain improvements (Pavel)
Buffer selection cleanups (Pavel)
Fixed file node improvements (Pavel)
io-wq setup cancelation fix (Pavel)
Various other performance improvements and cleanups (Pavel)
Misc fixes (Arnd, Bixuan, Changcheng, Hao, me, Noah)
