Labware definitions for 4-in-1 tuberacks are slightly off.

Expected:

  • Pipette should move to flush with top of tubes during labware calibration
  • Pipette should move to 1mm above bottom of tube during run

Observed:

  • Pipette moves ~3-4 mm above top of tube during calibration (all tubes)
  • Pipette moves too low (crashing into bottom of tube) during run (50ml tube only)

Steps to Recreate

  • Perform robot deck calibration
  • Load a protocol with all four tube rack configurations and p300 pipette
  • Configure deck with standard tubes and tip racks
  • Perform labware calibration and observe pipette move ~3-4 mm above top of all tubes (2ml eppendorf and screw cap, 15ml, 50ml)
  • Correct calibration for all labware
  • Perform run and observe pipette move too low in 50ml tube (crashes into bottom)

FYI @Laura-Danielle @btmorr

1 of 2 labware issues @mcous and I found while testing 3.4.0 labware updates. Let's consider this high priority and blocking 3.4.0 production release (and therefore use of new modular tuberacks)
