IBEX Feedback

• Like how IBEX is being improved and bugs are being fixed.
• IRIS_SETUP is working well.
• Neither have used the script server but were sold on the feature that the script will still run even if the client crashes. They did not know how to convert a normal script to one that will run on the script server, however.
• IRIS uses the "Alarm" and "IOC Log" views when things go wrong.
• Asked about using simulation mode in genie_python to check a script will run.
• VESUVIO asked for closer integration with mantid to allow them to stop running when the spectra plots are good enough. This may be possible using import mantid, but I don't know.
• More generally, VESUVIO is interested in us adding other scientific python modules (e.g. Scipy) to allow them to use them in their scripts in the future.

Things to Improve

• Would like the option to change Font sizes.
• The Beam current graph in the "Beam Status" view does not update live.
• VESUVIO think their spectra are arriving late - 20ms instead of 2ms.
• VESUVIO mentioned seeing Eurotherm's showing a very high temperature (>800K) when disconnected which could be confusing to users.
• Would like the ability to configure scales on log plots on opening.

Future devices to support

• VESUVIO have a new webcam that they would like to be integrated into IBEX.
• VESUVIO are hoping to use a neutron camera in the future, and they would like this supported in IBEX. Check with the scientists about the specific model.
