This includes a couple more changes missed when creating patch 4.

the following got updated:

GMAO_Shared to v1.4.10.5-GEOS-FP-2
GEOSana_GridComp to https://github.com/GEOS-ESM/GEOSana_GridComp/releases/tag/v1.5.4.8-GEOS-FP-2

These amount to:

  1. transition from GOES-17 to 18
  2. better readiness for OMPS-LP: only class named npp_ompslp_nc needs to be added to OBSCLASS env var to trigger data usage.

Notice that the "txt" files above become "rc" files in a setup experiment.

Also notice, that p4 is non-zero diff to p3, which means, not only the rc and configuration flies above might introduce differences, but also the analysis source code itself produces intentional non-zero differences.

As x0047PRY, but running full ADAS (including ensemble).

  • Revised assimilation of hyperspectral IR channels: revise cloud detection for CrIS-FSR; adjust QC; adjust varBC.
  • Update to CRTM v2.4.0
  • Supports tracer analysis with reference to minimal background information (no need for sfc and upper air meteorological fields).
  • Model version v10.25.1 (zero-diff to v10.25.0, but aided with R21C output needs).

This release of GEOS ADAS is nearly zero-diff to GEOSadas-5.29.4. The important additions are:

  1. handle for SPIRE RO (non zero diff from 5.29.4, when used)
  2. lowered top for RO assimilation (from 60 to 55 km; non-zero diff).
  3. change in orbital parameters (in radiation) cause minor changes to model integration (non-zero diff)
  4. introduced convinfo data base controlling in/out conventional observations (as sat-info; (zero-diff)

This release also fully supports GEOS-IT and it is used to start the actual cycling with that system. For convenience, in its GEOS-IT configuration this released is used under tag name: GEOSadas-5.29.4-p3.

The base line experiments for this release are: x0046a and x0046d - refer to GEOSadas/Wiki for details.

This is a patch release on GEOSadas v5.29.0

The change is a bug-fix for LD_LIBRARY_PATH handling in the central DAS (per @rtodling and @saraqzhang, see #104).

This release of GEOSadas is equivalent to the physics in GEOSgcm v10.19.2. Testing shows a C48 L181 run of GEOSgcm.x is zero-diff between GEOSgcm v10.19.2 and GEOSadas v5.29.0

There are three infrastructure layer differences of note:

  1. Uses Baselibs 6.1.0 instead of 6.2.4
    • ESMA_env v3.2.1 instead of v3.3.0
    • ESMA_cmake v3.4.2 instead of v3.5.0
  2. Uses MAPL v2.6.7 instead of v2.7.0

This versions were not advanced in the GEOSadas due to a longer testing cycle. However, the differences in these three repos are zero-diff. The change mainly concerns a difference in how CMake links to Baselibs libraries.
