E4L Spinner

The E4L Spinner is a novel spatialization device that automates the movement of a mono sound source in space. The devices automates two types of motion: Horizontal Spin and Vertical Oscillation.

Horizontal Spin rotates the sound about the horizontal plane. The Range setting sets the maximum rate of oscillation, and the Rate control is applied as a multiplication factor to the Range. Positive Rate values rotate clockwise, negative values rotate anti-clockwise.

Vertical Oscillation automates the sound's elevation. Similar to the spin controls, Range setting sets the maximum rate of oscillation and Rate is applied as a multiplier. Additionally, the Min Elev and Max Elev controls set the total allowed range of motion.

The Heads-Up Display animates the generated pattern of motion in both the horizontal and vertical planes.

Envelop is a nonprofit organization that amplifies the unifying power of music through immersive listening spaces, events, and open-source spatial audio software.
