When already viewing the instance (often your first experience coming into the UI) it appears to do nothing.

  • Improve the active state of the button
  • Maybe go as far as to reload the view

I guess "view instance" is quite verby.

Replace View Instance with instance dropdown

* makes it clear what you're viewing
* allows to quickly change the instance
* instance management icon was removed, can be reached via dropdown
