Fast-follow MR4 work items (writing tests)

This issue is tracking smaller work items that were intentionally postponed to expedite the MR4 release given tight scheduling and resourcing constraints. As a result, there may be cases when some tests weren't added. We should add those tests.

The open work items are tracked below:

• Address all TODOs attached to this issue.
• Make sure PR Fix #4197: Introduce new hints banner in exploration player #4274 has good testing coverage.
• Make sure PR Fix #4026, #4027, #4040, #4076, #4287, #4319, #4329: Fix miscellaneous bugs found while testing alpha MR4 #4259 has good testing coverage.
• Make sure PR Fix #4305: Add support for Swahili translations (app strings and content) #4307 has good testing coverage.
• Make sure PR Fix #4064: Introduce admin controls UI for learner analytics monitoring in user studies #4271 has good testing coverage.
