The problem

Managed Items cannot be assigned to Groups in Item Edit page

Expected behavior

Groups should be available.

Steps to reproduce

1. Got to Settings -> Items page

2. Choose Item

3. Click Edit button in top right corner

Workaround: Edit the Group and assign members.

It works here, any JS errors to report when you open the list? If you click the orange icon (which brings up the model-based view) what happens?

No JS error in the developer console.

When clicking on the orange threes line on the left hand side of "Parent Group(s)" I can see this popup.

Picking a Group from over there is working.

When clicking on the grey error on the right hand side I get an empty popup:

Maybe it's a regression introduced by #1000, there were changes in that area in this PR.
@hubsif would be appreciated if you could have a look!
