ZapfLine

The ZapfLine can be build in two different versions - without the valve as ZapfLine Classic or including the valve als ZapfLine Plus. #ZapfLine Classic This beer line is equipped with just a flow meter. The Zapfmaster 2000 uses a Swissflow SF800 flow meter. It runs on 5V DC and outputs a frequency as square waveform between 0V and 5V. All necessary electrical components are located on the ZapfBoard.

Please note, that while the SF800 is made to be used with beverages, specifically beer, the manufacturer might not have acquired the certification needed in your country. Depending on your intended use, for example in a gastronomic context, you should inquire about the certification needed by your food authority. This could mean, that a different flow meter is required, which might have different electrical properties.

#ZapfLine Plus In addition to the SF800 flow meter, the ZapfLine Plus is equipped with a 12V DC valve. The valve is closed when powerless. It is connected to the ZapfBoard which amplifies the Raspberry Pi's GPIO in order to supply the needed 12V and 1A of power. When a user is authenticated at the ZapfKit the valve is opened at full power and then the voltage is effectively reduced using PWM. This is done to reduce the power used and to limit heat dissipation at the valve.
