No value passed error in prometheus metrics

Description

Sometimes nginx error log prints: No value passed for ..._time. This is caused by a nil value passed to the prometheus metrics handler.

Expected behavior: No error given

**Actual behavior:**Some metrics errors

Reproduces how often: low but noisy
