References Beyond Homestuck is currently at 1353 tracks, up from 804 in 2023. At the current rate of expansion, the planet will be comprised entirely of References Beyond Homestuck in the next 15 to 20 years.
59 tracks: Miscellany by Homestuck musicians
561 tracks: Music from video games
118 tracks: Music composed for movies, television, and other visual arts
67 tracks: Traditional music
527 tracks: Other music originating outside Homestuck
21 tracks: Other works originating outside of Homestuck
If #466 is ever resolved then expect Other music originating outside Homestuck and Other works originating outside of Homestuck to both grow dramatically, as well.
It's simply unnavigable. An easy proposal is to split off Music from video games and Other music originating outside Homestuck into their own albums, and even then we should be considering ways to partition those albums into smaller sections or chunks.
For Music from video games, the biggest franchises are Pokemon (67), Mario (29), Zelda (29), Mega Man (25), Mother (25). Many other game franchises have 10-20 tracks on their own. They could possibly be split into independent sections based on this criteria, with a cutoff below a certain number. If franchise artists are ever addressed then this entire system will be a big part of the consideration.
Other music originating outside Homestuck has several ways one could try to imagine partitioning into smaller chunks, with the possibility of some of those chunks staying in References Beyond Homestuck while the rest is split off into its own album. Stuff like mainstream music, independent music, meme songs on youtube, stuff like that. It's very difficult, however, to think of a consistently rigorous delineation for these,
Other works originating outside of Homestuck can easily be conceptually split off into its own album and it can also easily be split into further subsections, like movies, video games, etc.
Some more stats because, I don't know, I'm bored:
Albums by # tracks: References Beyond Homestuck (1353), Stuckhome Syndrome (413), Pokemon Scarlet and Violet (208)
Albums by YAML KB: References Beyond Homestuck (1391), LOFAM4 (210), LOFAM5A2 (180)
Albums by YAML lines: References Beyond Homestuck (43572), LOFAM4 (3791), LOFAM5A2 (3420)
