Firefox version? #2
Comments
I did what you told and this popped up: Reading manifest: Error processing background.persistent: Event pages are not currently supported. This will run as a persistent background page. |
If it won't work anyways, then you can try 0.99.162 from crx.dam.io or older. Seems Foxified (https://github.com/Noitidart/Chrome-Store-Foxified) wasn't updated recently so i contacted the initiator. |
Thank you @ImprovedTube for reaching out. Firefox doesn't support the manifest exactly as Chrome does. We would need to adjust the manifest till it works. :( |
@dereg666 @Noitidart Hi, ImprovedTube 2.0.0 and Firefox version soon ;) |
The best news for Firefox! |
Wow! That's amazing. |
Could you add the options: 'keep request desktop site' for the mobile Firefox user? |
I haven't seen the Firefox version available yet. Is this still happening? For me, I just downloaded the zip of master off GitHub and added it myself for the time being. |
@Sawtaytoes how did you add it i am switching from chrome to firefox and this is the last extention i needed to have all my extentions |
You have to create a zip of the contents of the It doesn't seem to work properly for me, but it might work for you. |
@isaacay i installed the extension on firefox using the debug addons menu and the extension works fine now the dev just needs to go through the approval process to get it on the firefox addon store. |
@ImprovedTube I just tested your extension on firefox and it works well with no bugs so far. Edit: I encountered one bug where my settings don't save in the extension settings. |
I've noticed several bugs with the Firefox version. For one, the "repeat" button, when added, is way lower than it should be, putting it half outside of the video window. Dark mode doesn't work at all. And this may be a bug across chrome and firefox, but I continue to experience a video pause when backgrounding a youtube tab, despite having all of the auto-pause features turned off. Edit: It also seems like the "use old version" feature does nothing as well. |
@FranticRain same but i also found you cant export your settings to save them for after restarting firefox because the plugin unloads after closing firefox |
You can currently just download the master branch and load the extension yourself, works great! |
alright, I decided to clean my hands of chrome after they removed several features they claim "nobody uses anymore" or "barely uses anymore" and went back to firefox. The only thing that I missed from getting rid fo chrome was improvedtube after magic actions got so stupid to deal with. Now I downloaded the master branch and zipped the firefox folder contents and temporarily loaded it, and it works absolutely perfect, dark mode works great, no buttons or any of the youtube UI is broken for me, its as if I never left behind the chrome version of improvedtube But I have to ask, if only to get a definitive answer instead of silence or "Wait and see": is firefox delaying the release of the improvedtube addon, is the web extension api giving troubles for compiling the firefox version, has all focus from the firefox version ceased entirely, what? I beg of you improvedtube devs, this addon is leagues better than anything I've used over the years and ever will, please don't disregard this solely for chrome, please? |
How to use this extension on the mobile device ? |
@starobots You can't until it gets released. The dev hasn't went through the approval process to have the extension put on the store. Also the extension still needs work to fix bugs that are specific to firefox. |
@NickolasBoyer I'm an idiot. How does one do this? |
You can use the modified version of ImprovedTube for Firefox - https://github.com/ImprovedTube/ImprovedTube/tree/master/firefox Maybe later we will release ImprovedTube for Firefox Add-ons |
#440 : Please rate it so people notice https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/youtube-addon |
I've been using ImprovedTube for a long time. Recently my chrome crashes all the time and I'm trying to move to Firefox. Is there any possibility that improvedtube can be launched on firefox?
