Currently, both on ImprovedTube 1.0 and 2.0, the mini player has some issues that disrupt the experience.
It doesn't work while scrolling down on fullscreen mode. Meaning when the "Scroll for details" function is enabled you can scroll even on fullscreen mode, but the miniplayer won't show up.
Clicking on a timestamp on the comments section scrolls the page all the way back up to the top, which defeats the purpose of having a mini player. I don't know if this is possible to fix but i'm listing it here anyway.
On ImprovedTube 2.0 the miniplayer does display the progressbar and timestamps, which is a great improvement (and helps with the issue number 2 in this list) but that player is quite glitchy. Mostly because of the "resizing" function, which bugs out the mouse cursor even when it's not near the player and also messes up with page scrolling for some reason. It also doesn't seem to be correctly sized to the aspect ratio of the video. I see transparent bars on top and bottom of the mini player. My monitor has 16:10 aspect ratio, so maybe that has something to do with it. Anotations, cards and the end screen look messed up as well.
Also on ImprovedTube 2.0, the miniplayer doesn't show up as soon as the main player disappears. It's necessary to scroll further down to bring it up. This is a minor issue and probably easy to fix.
So my final consideration would be to simply use the default YouTube miniplayer, which shows up when you press "i". That one is good enough, it shows the progressbar and timestamps, it's correctly sized and it's probably easier to implement than trying to fix the issues of the current one.
I use Chrome versions by the way.

The floating player causes horrific lag for me when scrolling. Often times the video disappears completely. Very glitchy.
It should also appear after 50% of the video is gone, like Youtube+/Iridium, instead of when all of the video is gone. Or better yet, make this configurable.
I'm not saying the devs should outright copy how Iridium handles its floating player(* cough ** cough *) but something needs to be done about it.
That is the only thing keeping me from switching over to ImprovedTube. Otherwise it's an amazing addon with so many features.
