YouTube Admin #56

2017.12 report
|
@flix1, I've added you to the @bisq-network/youtube-admins team (and assigned you to this role to reflect). This means you have write access to this repository, and can therefore now apply the For the record, I have not granted @flix1 access to the YouTube channel, just to this GitHub repo for issue-management purposes. |
2018.01 report
Generally, this infrastructure seems to be working. Would be great to have someone take it over from me. There's nothing special I'm adding to it by doing it personally now that it's all set up, and I'm sure someone else could easily do a better job. Let me know if you're up for that. |
2018.02 report
@ripcurlx set up the live streams this month, and did follow-up work on several of them, adding in-video links, title cards, etc. For this reason, I've assigned him here as he is in every way a de-facto admin with full rights to the channel and doing most of the heavy lifting there. @ripcurlx, would you be willing to own this role in a primary way going forward? To continue being responsible for setting up live streams, running the shows, doing these monthly reports, and anything else you see fit (including delegating any and all of that to others down the road)? |
@cbeams You have mind reading capabilities 😉. I wanted to suggest it today as well, that I would be fine taking this role until someone else wants to take it over. |
2018.03 report

@ripcurlx, great to see the stats above, thanks. A couple minor things:
|
I updated the description of this issue to distinguish @ripcurlx as the primary role owner and myself (@cbeams) as secondary, per bisq-network/proposals#12. |
Cycle 12 ReportWe had a net gain of 58 new subscribers this month. Had 2 calls for the March growth initiative, and started a new playlist called Bisq Distilled that will be woven into the new getting-started guide. It appears YouTube is now forcing their horrible new analytics layout, so this is the best screenshot I can get at the moment. Early reaction to the new Distilled videos seems pretty good. |
Cycle 13 ReportWe had a net gain of 33 new subscribers in April. One growth call was uploaded in April. After the incident in the beginning of the month, it didn't seem appropriate to have another call for a while. The next call was held and uploaded just after the month ended. The remaining Bisq Distilled videos were published during the month. |
Cycle 14 ReportWe had a net gain of 50 new subscribers in May. |
Cycle 15 ReportWe had a net gain of 37 new subscribers in June. No new videos were uploaded, but we're changing that soon. |
Cycle 16 ReportWe had a net gain of 46 new subscribers in July. No new videos were uploaded, but we did do a Twitter video and some other content mentioned here. The Bisq Distilled videos are doing well now that the new getting-started page is live and key links across the website have been redirected to it. |
Cycle 17 ReportThere was a net gain of 58 new subscribers in August. |
Cycle 18 ReportThere was a net gain of 55 new subscribers in September. |
Cycle 19 ReportThere was a net gain of 46 new subscribers in October and 73 in November. Both the Q3 update and Pedro's follow-the-green-cat videos were posted in mid-to-late October, which perhaps drove November subscriber activity (along with doom-and-gloom, and BTC price action). |
Cycle 20 ReportThere was a net gain of 114 new subscribers in December, which is well beyond the usual. Only 1 video was uploaded—the HCPP workshop video—but it's gotten great view time and impressions. It's likely these numbers reflect momentum from BTCSessions' tutorial, which is uploaded to YouTube. It's featured on the front channel page for Bisq, so that it's one of the first things visitors to Bisq's YouTube channel see. |
Cycle 21 ReportThere was a net gain of 150 new subscribers in January, which is well beyond the usual. The HCPP workshop video and Bisq Distilled series continue to be top drivers of view time and impressions. |
Cycle 24 ReportThere was a net gain of 115 new subscribers in April. The Q1 2021 update call was streamed/uploaded, along with another demo session. Started uploading Bisq videos to a new venue for bitcoin-themed media content...looking forward to seeing it announced publicly soon! |
Cycle 25 ReportThere was a net gain of 97 new subscribers in May. No new videos were uploaded. Bisq's channel on BitcoinTV is up and running. |
Cycle 29 ReportThere was a net gain of 74 new subscribers in September. No new videos were uploaded. There were 4 developer calls but none were recorded. |
Cycle 30 ReportThere was a net gain of 64 new subscribers in October. No new videos were uploaded. There were 2 developer calls but none were recorded. |
This role is responsible for managing the Bisq YouTube channel where folks can follow demo videos, talks, interviews, etc.
