Prebuilt Wheels for Python 3.9 #534
Comments
Hi, I guess if somebody sends a PR updating the CI/CD configuration, we could do something about it :) |
I'd be interested in taking a look at this but do you mind if I run a few things here? So is it as simple as adding the following to azure for Windows and Mac? I'm assuming there's quite a bit more complexity to manylinux1? add to deploy.yml
add to stage-test
|
Probably that's what's necessary. I haven't checked if manylinux1 has Python 3.9 already, though, but we'll need that for completeness. |
Looks like I may have jumped the gun a bit on this one. Azure doesn't yet support py 3.9 According to one of the comments it'll be added next week |
Good to know. In fact, it'd be cool to migrate everything to use GitHub Actions Workflows should anybody want to invest time into such an effort. But that's a separate task and is totally not a blocker here. |
Yeah that looks pretty good. I'd look into these things for my own projects if there was a need but I've (somehow) managed to keep everything in pure Python for the time being :D |
@FredHappyface well, you can still use GHA for pure python, it's just easier to set up :) |

Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.
When installing a project that uses this as a dependency, the end user is required to install visual c++ >=14 on Windows.
Describe the solution you'd like
Would it be possible to create prebuilt wheels for py 3.9 as has been done for previous versions?
Describe alternatives you've considered
It would be nice if Windows had these tools installed by default as is the case in many Linux distros...
Additional context
Thanks very much for your time :D
