Map Contents Sprint4 test plan
In sprint4, We improved the scoring system contents and health system conents: players pick up first aid kit and food will increase health, pick up coins will get marks and pick up diamonds will get higher marks, which makes them the improvement of gameplay. However, we need some user testing to ensure that this is effective and reasonable, while looking for drawbacks to improve it.
By testing, I wanted to determine if the player could dodge and pick up items correctly and use items to increase marks or health. There is no need to explain the impact of content. (Note: This purpose is testing usability, so the testing method should allow the player to select items in the game environment and use them to make the game more interesting and determine whether the items will have a positive effect on the player)
This includes testing the rationality of the frequency of content generation, the interactivity with other team features, and the degree of intuitive perception of the player.
- WeChat: Simulate the operation through video files for testers to carry out relevant tests
- Google form: Randomly find testers, observe the operation of the sprint, and fill out the questionnaire to get feedback.
1. Explain game’s backstory and setting to tester (don’t explain the items)
- This gives them the context they may need to understand the game.
2. Show them the prototype (don’t explain the items).
- So they know what they will be playing/looking at/interacting with.
3. Explain the basic controls (as appropriate, also don’t explain the items).
- So they know how to play..
4.Give tester the task of finding the first aid kit, food, coin and diamond on the map.
- As they do this, watch the player for signs of confusion and see if they pick up/miss first aid kit, food, coin and diamond, See if they can tell the difference between coin and diamond.
- The time taken to complete this task can be collected as quantitative data.
5. Interview with tester
- a)Which content do you find most appealing to yourism?
- b)Why did it catch your attention? Did you think it was special?
- c)Do you notice any differences between coins and diamonds?
- d)What's the difference between a coin and a diamond?
- e)Do you think it's easy to get or dodge these things?
- f)Given the backstory of this game, which do you think are the most important items?
6. Ask tester if they have any questions about the test, or the game.
7. Thank the tester for their time and input.
-
- What was the tester’s response?
-
- Why did they give that response?
-
- What could you change to account for that response? What was their suggestion?
-
- Should you change / implement that suggestion? Why, or why not?
-
- How will / did the design change?
