[Help] Application Setup
This page details how to set up the application and the supported game versions properly. Be sure you pay close attention and do exactly as written.
The mod launcher is non-destructive to the game files and neither are the mods that are supported by the launcher.
The mods themselves that are built using our tools (unless otherwise stated) leverage the patch system that the Telltale Tool uses, which simply loads in patch archives ontop of the original ones without overwriting anything. This makes it very convenient for both installation/uninstallation and takes up far less space on the disk than full replacement archives. It does not destroy nor modify any of your original game files, so again. Backing up your game or game files is not required!
Application Installation is fairly simple.
- You download the latest release from here.
- Create a folder that will contain the launcher.
- Simply extract the zip file contents to the that you created.
- After that simply run the TelltaleModLauncher.exe to run the launcher.
This details how each game version should be setup.
On the application setup, it will ask you to locate the game executable and also the mods folder.
- The Game Executable is located simply right in the Game Directory, should be named WDC.exe
- The Mods folder in the case of The Walking Dead Definitive Series is simply the Archives folder which is located in the Game Directory.
NOTE: IN VERSION 0.6.5 AND BEYOND THE "MODS" FOLDER FOR ALL GAME VERSIONS ARE SELECTED AUTOMATICALLY.
THIS IS NOT REQUIRED FOR APPLICATION SETUP
This Game Version can be utilized to test/use unsupported Games that the launcher has not been tested with.
Do know that if you wish to use this, that there is a good chance that it won't work with the given Game as currently the Launcher has been designed and tested extensively with the Walking Dead Telltale Definitive Series.
But your welcome to try it if you wish, be sure to detail your experiences and issues that you encounter and post it as an issue here.
These are not required yet for application usage or setup so you can leave these undefined/unassigned.
In future releases, these dependencies will be automatically included and assigned for your convenience upon installing the application.
