We have existing tutorials:
http://pixhawk.org/dev/px4_simple_app
http://pixhawk.org/dev/px4_daemon_app

However, we still should make them even more accessible.

This is part of the core developers roadmap for PX4:
http://pixhawk.org/roadmap
