Initial Setup Checklist

A list of necessary tools and supplies for assembly of the MaslowCNC not included in the shipped kit. Optional tools and equipment as identified by the community are included in italics.
- A router (recommended in the USA: RIDGID 2 HP 1/2 in. Corded Fixed Base Router, model R2200.) See: Tested Routers List
- If using Ridgid model R2200 you will also need a total of three 10-32 x 1in. machine screws (Other models/brands may use a different screw to attach the baseplate to the router body so adjust diameter/thread of screw accordingly)
- Router Bits (recommended starter spiral up bit) See: Tested Bits List
- Computer to control Maslow (Desktop, Laptop or Raspberry Pi)
- C-Clamps or wood screws (for holding the plywood you’re cutting to the frame)
- Sandpaper or rounding bit (for smoothing cut pieces)
- USB cable long enough to keep your computer away from the cutting surface and from dust
- Assembly instructions
- Safety glasses
- Earplugs
- Well-fitting work gloves
- Safety Instructions
- Extension cord(s) that will reach from your router table to your wall outlet
- Glue Stick or spray on rubber cement
- Access to a printer (for printing initial templates)
- Assorted zip-ties (for cable management)
- Wire cutters (primarily for cutting zip-ties)
- ¾” (18mm) 4’x8’ plywood: qty. 2
- Red bricks: qty. 2
- 2x4 by 10’ long: qty. 4
- Phillips screwdriver
- Saw (for cutting 2x4s)
- Drill
- Drill bits: 3/8"
- Crescent wrench, or pliers, or a set of wrenches
- Oscillating tool (example: http://www.homedepot.com/p/RIDGID-JobMax-4-Amp-Multi-Tool-with-Tool-Free-Head-R28602/206824272) or a tool suitable for cutting tabs away from router cut pieces.
- Needle nose pliers (to help with tightening small nuts and bolts)
- Zip-ties (for cable management)
- Wire cutters (primarily for cutting zip ties)
- Sacrificial 4x8’ sheet material to place over frame (for example, MDF, particle board, etc.)
- 1 ½” (outer diameter) flexible hose (8-12’ long) for dust collection into a wet/dry vac (this assumes you’re using a Rigid r2200 series router)
- Dust collection of some kind (shop vacuum, etc)
- Power strip to mount to frame to easily control power to entire machine.
- Uninterruptible Power Supply
