I believe there have been reports of glTF models showing up black in Cesium on the forum (if you know of any please comment here). There is a reported issue in Three.js on some hardware, mrdoob/three.js#8381. If this is the generated shaders, we will either fix the shaders or workaround them in JavaScript.

This could affect all of our lighting code, not just glTF models.

I'll take a look at that one since it went through the obj converter.

I have updated the the Google Groups forum topic with the original OBJ file as well, as well as other details.

Thanks I'll check it out!

Apparently the OBJ file was corrupt, in my case. Sean Lilley had a look and said the following:

It looks like the website exports a somewhat broken obj file. The faces reference normals that don't seem to exist and the obj doesn't load correctly in any programs I've tried. I was able to clean up the obj a bit and export it correctly, but I would bring this issue up with tinkercad.

hi folks

i guess this question/issue also fits in here (better than in the exporter):

KhronosGroup/glTF-Blender-Exporter#143

basically, the models are much darker in cesium than the other viewers. thank you for your help!

Just discovered this closed one:

#5787

To me, the milk truck still looks pretty dark also after the fix/update.
What do you think? What options are there in cesium to make the models appear brighter?
Thank you!

The dark/black models should be all gone from the May release of Cesium 1.45.
