Also log what values are being used. Fixes an issue where triggering interval is used even though the batch size is 1 and thus data is sent ASAP all the time. Fix diagnostics to report number of notifications that are still in the batch buffer, so that one can calculate the sum of received == encoded + not yet encoded (since still in batch buffer). Fixes #2045 and #2047
