Welcome to the Wiki of the "Huawei Solar" integration for Home Assistant!
This integration aims to expose the information and functions made available by Huawei Solar inverters directly over Modbus in Home Assistant. It was built with the information made available by Huawei in the Solar Inverter Modbus Interface Definitions PDF.
If you're getting started, then have a look at Connecting to the inverter to study the various ways this integration supports to communicate with the inverter. If you have an installation with multiple inverters, you'll want to have a look at Connecting to daisy chained inverters
Once you've managed to get this integration running, we would appreciate it if you document your installation on the Confirmed Firmware versions page.
If you're interested in creating some fancy graphs of your power generation and consumption, you can draw some inspiration from Visualisations.
If you want to adapt the power output of your inverter (for example because you have a dynamically priced electricity contract), you can use the Active Power Control services of this integration.
If your installation includes a battery, you'll want to read some more information on:
- Daily Solar Yield: how to create a template sensor with the Solar Yield which comes close to the numbers reported in FusionSolar.
- Force Charge/Discharge Battery: information on the HA services made available by this integration to influence how your battery operates.
- Capacity Control: information on how to enable and correctly set the Capacity control features of a LUNA2000 battery
- Time of Use Control: how to update the time-of-use periods of a battery
- Battery Charge/Discharge separately sensor: how to setup individual sensors charge & discharge Sensors for LUNA2000 Battery
- Alternative HA Energy Dashboard is a collection of visualizations created by Joerg Heinemann. It gives a very detailed graphical overview of power flows and energy usage.
- Power, Energy and Economy Sensors is a collection of custom sensors created by Nick Jensen which showcase how data coming from two inverters, a battery and a power meter is combined and enriched to give you all the actual energy flows and actual cost of the electricity usage compared to a scenario where the PV installation is absent.
