Time Travel: zoom sensitivity wildly different between Chrome and Firefox

In Firefox, to zoom out from a range of 6 minutes to a range of 1 hour, takes 55(!) full drags of my scroll wheel (one drag is about 8 clicks, so about 440 clicks), which is way too insensitive.

On Chrome, it takes just 3 full drags.

For comparison, zooming by the same 10x factor on Google Maps takes just 13 clicks.

Following #2777, the zoom in FF is now not quite sensitive enough, and, moreover, is massively different from Chrome.

To zoom by a factor of 10, e.g. go from fully zoomed in, when the timeline covers about 6 minutes, to a level where it covers 60 minutes, takes 5 clicks on my mouse wheel on FF and 33 on Chrome.

using my trackpad gives the same result - one full "pinch" on FF goes from 6 minutes to 60, and in Chrome to just 12.

I reckon the correct sensitivity is actually somewhere inbetween - the FF zoom feels too coarse, and the Chrome zoom too fine. The 13 clicks that Google Maps takes for 10x zoom is probably about right.
