Improvements

  • Remove CodeQL as a default workflow in this template because it causes issues if users want to use the template to create private repositories

Future thoughts

Either through new GitHub template features or a framework like cookiecutter, there could be an option to include CodeQL when you create a repository from the template.

Created #55 to track the exploration of CodeQL alternatives or packages with complementary features that can be run locally.
