Issues managing policy. #292
-
I noticed that all 25 open issues in this repository were closed overnight. That means all issues were addressed? Most (all) of them were closed with no hint about how the issue was fixed, no clarification about if what was asked was an issue in the first place or not. Don't get me wrong: I'm excited about the new Understrap team and I'm looking forward to partecipate more myself in the community. I also get it that some issues were more support question than code issues but I was expecting more engagement than going clean slate just because "it works on my machine". As I said: I'm very excited and I wish you guys all the best, I was just baffled by all the undocumented notification about issues closed overnight. I can't imagine how it's like managing a public repo like this one, I always work by myself or with a small team in private repos, but here I think issue managing is not just about code review but also about an open dialogue with the community. That's not meant to be an antagonizing thread, just a feedback about how it could looks from the outside. |

Hi @ironicmoka That was me who did that. All of these issues were from early 2020 going back to 2019. Most had no activity in nearly as long as it had been since they were opened. Additionally, many changes have been made both to the main theme and the child theme, and several more active discussions are taking place on the main theme that would impact the relevance of these child theme issues. There are breaking changes coming with the next main theme update [ 1.0.0 ] ( hopefully sooner than you expect ) that will cascade into possible breaking changes for the child theme as well. I feel that we will better spend our efforts as a community in addressing what is than what may have been and may or may not still be an issue. If I made the wrong decision in clearing the slate, that's on me, but my intention was to clear the way to the near future of Understrap. I am even now installing and testing the main theme and the child theme against the many new commits that have been added. I would love if anyone else wanted to test and post their results as well. It will get us a nice long list of fresh new issues with current relevance very quickly I suspect. |
