hello @pradeeban
thank you sir for your reply, I have selected project *[5] Creating
shareable "albums" from locally stored DICOM images*
Currently I am doing the code challenge that was assigned with this project.
*Code Challenge:* Experience working with DICOM images from previous
projects or through a sample dummy project will be a plus.
I am getting familiar with DICOM images handling in *"Java" *. After I am
done learning, at least the basics of DICOM, I'll email you as I complete
the
challenge.
I am really looking forward to contributing to this helpful project through
GSoC 2025.
Regards,
Aillie

Dear All,
Thanks for your interest in working with Alaska projects for GSoC 2025. We are reading all your comments and discussions, although due to the volume of the comments, we may be slow to respond in the early days.
A few points:
You must complete the " Code Challenge: " prior to submitting the proposal for it to be considered if there is one explicitly listed for the project idea. (You could do it in your own GitHub repository and provide the link or attach it to the proposal).
The submissions must be through GSoC portal (once the accepted organizations are announced and once the contributor application period starts). Just sending an email or sharing it over the Discussion forum is not sufficient. It must be uploaded to GSoC portal during the application period https://summerofcode.withgoogle.com/.
Please go through https://github.com/uaanchorage/GSoC carefully. Follow the provided template in your proposals.
Please avoid generic questions from the mentors when they can be found from the GSoC website.
One common question we receive is, "when can we start submitting the proposal?" The answer can be found from https://developers.google.com/open-source/gsoc/timeline
While we encourage meaningful questions, generic (non-specific) questions such as "Where to start?" are unlikely to receive a response, as they do not show any effort from the applicant.
We discourage contacting the mentors via individual emails. We request that the applicants use the Discussion forum instead.
Also, if you must email the mentors, please cc every mentor in a single email, rather than sending individual emails to each mentor. That way, you don't force multiple mentors to reply to the same question!
Many of the above comments are best practices and are applicable to any organization!
Regards,
Pradeeban.
