On mobile devices, the logger icon is replaced by the "chat"
icon since it is more likely to be useful on small display
devices. The logger can always be opened from the Support
pane in the dashboard.

The logger won't come back in the popup panel, there is not enough place for it on a mobile device. However you can access it through the Support pane, where it says "The logger is the primary tool to diagnose filter-related issues." Once you open the logger, you can create a shortcut to access it it more quickly next time.

To further explain the rationale, the new "Report an issue on this website" is far more important than the logger one, as it can be a pain to report filter issues on mobile, and now this will make it easy. Also, the logger is a technical tool, even more difficult to use on mobile (I can't remember last time I used it on mobile), so I gather only a tiny minority will be affected by the change, and a shortcut to the logger will work as well as before.

Let users decide what's more important to them. Make this panel tweakable

Phone screens are huge these days, why not make it depend on that whether those shortcuts are displayed or not?

Or value that you can set in advanced settings to force them to show on mobile?

Yes, with dev build 1.39.1b1 , you can add +logger to the advanced setting uiPopupConfig.

Okay, that's good to hear 👍

Why not to add the logger button back for everyone but make it appear only after "More" is pressed once?

@gorhill ?

Yes, with dev build 1.39.1b1 , you can add +logger to the advanced setting uiPopupConfig.

Should it be finally documented @gorhill ?

Yeah, I think it's fine documenting this, token-based configuration seems to be a good idea after all.

logger is by default disabled in ublock origin mobile version for both chrome and Firefox base but we can enable it just do the following:

  1. ublock origin > settings
  2. tick I am an advanced user then enter its settings
  3. set UiPopupConfig to +logger
  4. apply restart browser
  5. logger option is back in mobile

Just my 2c as a user, and thus lacking the context around this thinking: I have no understanding as to why the logger is hidden by default, nor why such an elaborate and completely undiscoverable incantation is required to reach it. I would definitely advocate for reconsidering this 👍

Thank you forever for uBo 💙

You can use two spaces at end of the line to force new line in Markdown.

You should point directly to advanced setting wiki page instead of the issue comments.

Use a less specific "path" to access the logger from dashboard, because the dashboard can be accessed in different ways on different browsers, see https://github.com/gorhill/uBlock/wiki/Dashboard (you should probably link to this page).
