Hoping to save some time for users coming here and running into the same bugs most of us have. I believe https://github.com/corejavascript/typeahead.js is the best maintained fork, someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Please don't post any new issues - unless someone comes around and updates the README, it would be helpful to have this at the top.

I've mailed the maintainer:

Subject: Marking https://github.com/twitter/typeahead.js as "no longer active"
To: [email protected]

Hi Jake,

do you think you could mark your twitter typeahead project as "no longer maintained" and direct people to https://github.com/corejavascript/typeahead.js instead?

You would save a lot of developers a lot of time. #1424

I've just been through the process of fixing a bug that has long since been fixed on the javacsriptcore branch fork, then submitting a pull request, then seeing the number of open pull requests, the discovering the more active branch. And I'm watching so many people go through the same process, in multiple cases fixing the very same bug I did.

As far as I can work out GitHub doesn't currently support any really effective way for anyone other than the owner to direct people from one fork to another. And your project is still very much as the top of the google hitlist.

You get the idea: a couple of minutes of editing and you could save a lot of time for other devs.

Nice work on the component - thank you.

Anthony

why on earth is Jake Harding, who was supposed to be maintaining this version, listed as the maintainer of the
https://github.com/corejavascript/typeahead.js version?

@RacerEvan55 my guess is they just didn't modify that part of the README after forking. @jharding hasn't responded to any contact.

He is away from development for 6-7 months already. No recent commit on his
Github profile.

https://github.com/corejavascript/typeahead.js hasn't been updated for 8 months so maybe https://github.com/algolia/autocomplete.js is the best choice as suggested by @mallyvai
