- Go to Developers Twitter Page and click on Apply button on the top right hand side.
- This takes you to the Apply page. Click on the Apply for Developer account button on the page.
- Twitter will ask you to sign in if you have not already done so.
- Then it will redirect to the Apply access page where you need to pick a category based on why you want access to Twitter API
- Then verify your account details and click Next. The next screen presents some questions on why we need Twitter access.
- Answer the questions, review the application and press Finish. You will get a screen as shown below
- Then you need to check your email for the verification email sent from Twitter. Clicking on the Verify link email and typing a name for the Application, you will get a screen that presents the API keys:
You need to keep the keys safe and not to share them with anyone.
- Then press skip to Dashboard on the bottom right and you can see the Developer portal dashboard with the project details and an application within it.
Then you can choose to test endpoints using a REST API client and the API keys.
