Any progress on this lately? |
None on my side, as the requested changes will have to be modified after the new Regulations + the WCRP come into effect. |
I think this has been fully-handled now (#4144,) or the things that haven't been handled are not relevant anymore, so I'm going to close it. |
As discussed in the email thread, the Board wants to propose an update to the Create Competition Form. The proposed update consists of:
(if checked) Maximum number of events __
(if checked) [Text Box asking "Elaborate here"]
(if checked) Maximum number of competitors __
(if checked) [Text Box for Elaboration? Or fancy checkbox system?]
To facilitate the announcement of competitions, we would like to have warnings that we should attend to in the confirmation email. Those include:
(List of those. If a Regulation from Article Z has more than one part, list every part separately)
Including these warnings will save us time when checking if competitions are ready to be posted and will prevent us from accidentally announcing a competition that should not be announced.
By far, the most tedious part about reviewing competitions for announcement is cross-referencing the events list with the schedule. We already require a schedule, but we would like to require one on the WCA site that "talks to" the Events list. In particular, it should not be possible to confirm the competition unless a schedule is created that includes exactly the same events/rounds as the Events list. To account for tentative events, there should be a way to account for those on the Manage Events tab. From what we understand, the event rounds/formats should already be done anyway because it saves time when generating TNoodle scrambles now and Cubecomps will be able to read these settings (eventually), too.
