The Automation listens to the Tasmota discovery messages for the esp32-webcam devices. It sets up Tasmota camera control entities like

  • Webcam Init
  • Resolution control
  • Horizontal and vertical flip of the image
  • Brightness and contrast control

Note: In order to get cam:1 entry in the discovery message, it is recommended to call wcinit in the device startup. Use a rule/autoexec file as needed.

The resolution mapping is as mentioned here:
https://github.com/espressif/esp32-camera/blob/master/driver/sensor.c

Unfortunately, the mapping is not constant and may change in future. It also depends on the version of esp32-camera code base linked with Tasmota. Hence using simple numbers instead of a drop-down for resolution for now.
