This code release enhances the representation of lake CH4 dynamics in ALBM. It accompanies the following paper. Several important changes have been made: 1) realistic lake bathymetry, 2) multiple sediment columns, 3) new CH4 oxidation kinetics, 4) oxic methane production, 5) the effect of water level change on CH4 ebullition, 6) couple the sediment OC pools with the deposition of aquatic and terrestrial OC, and 7) a macrophyte module. The changes will be incorporated into the master branch later when the impact on CO2 dynamics is fully tested. The settings of the namelist file differs from those in the master branch.
