developing scripts further

This is a great collection of scripts, I think that I can make these into a nice python package with tests, documentation, examples etc.

I shall work on this over on a fork where I have merge rights and eventually bring any developments back here.

Further development is planned but I'm just going to go on a gmsh journey to and hopefully stumble along some relevant features along the way.
