There are apps out there for holding distributed retrospectives, but they lack a real-time communication component, as well as crucial facilitation features that an experienced facilitator would expect, such as idea-highlighting and real-time idea edits (for clarification of vague ideas). The best tools out there, believe it or not, are clunky Google docs. We can build a better tool that suits our needs. And because more and more teams are going remote, the value of this tool is growing and will continue to grow.
