This PR reworks the "user" logic of the default Custom Functions Subsystem (CFS) hardware module and also adds a simple example program to illustrate how to use/access the CFS from software (-> sw/example/demo_cfs).

The default CFS now implements four exemplary memory-mapped registers that perform simple, combinatorial data transformations:

  • binary to gray conversion
  • gray to binary conversion
  • bit reversal
  • byte swap (Endianness conversion)
