Close to tray doesn't work with xfce4 notification area #501
Comments
Not sure we can do much about that to be honest… The part of our tech stack that handles closing to tray hasn't changed so my first instinct would be to think there's an issue with xfce maybe? Our tech stack is on the road for an upgrade however (no ETA,) maybe that'll help :) |
Just checked cinnamon on laptop and desktop, no tray icon when this is enabled either. |
Thanks for sharing more details! We'll definitely have to double-check for linux minimize to tray behavior in general then. |
I tried to reproduce this issue in some desktop environments, see below results:
I installed In the meantime, we'll investigate why this is not working on some desktop environments. Related: electron/electron#21445 |

Thanks @johnny243! |
FYI, this is not an issue for me on XFCE 4.16 + SN 3.8.18, SN is minimized to the notification area when closed. |
Hi,
I've noticed this for awhile now; works fine in cinnamon, but xfce I don't get an item in the notification area (I did at some point last year).
Also, after clearing known applications, SN never comes back now (where it did previously).
If I close when the tray option is enabled, SN still runs (can be recalled to the window list by launching again, picks up where I left off).
I'm running ArchLinux, 4.14 for xfce core and components. Running version 3.3.3 of SN.
