The goal of pyNastran is to add read/write support for every mainstream Nastran card or result to enable custom tools to be written. Some examples of tools that exist include:
- mass properties
- loads summation
- nodal equivalence
- conversion of stresses/strains into alternate coordinate systems
- extraction of mass and stiffness matrices
- the pyNastran GUI
It's a vert big task and has been in continued development since 2011.
