PERKS reward system:

  • Add Chinook support
  • Player Fatcow FARPs leave static helicopter when player re-slots if FARP is deployed

New mission generator features:

  • "Save Config" button will modify or create a new mission config file. Your settings for each mission will be saved for next time. Mission creators no longer need to manually create the config file.
  • Slot selection will save in mission directory as player-slots.yaml
  • Most player flyable aircraft added to slot selection
  • Planes spawn at secondary airport when available (the second furthest friendly airfield from Staging)
  • "RotorOps Server Mission" checkbox, so anyone can create missions for our public server
  • CTLD and MIST scripts updated to latest versions
  • Player radio setup now taken from config/blue_player_loadouts.miz

RotorOps.lua (AI and gameplay)

  • Convoy will halt in zone without air support
  • Enemy tanks will suppress and halt convoy

Bugfixes:

  • Hotstarts were not always effective for all spawns
  • PERKS: player fatcow FARP would not deploy with message "you must be on the ground" while on the ground
  • PERKS: JTAC drone would not lase or mark targets
  • pydcs updated to handle latest Syria map update
  • Fixes #41 Noon time of day selection not working properly

Update to handle AH-64D pylon change in latest DCS open beta.
Fixes these other bugs:

  • double listings in scenario mission list (ie. Black Hawk Down missions)
  • game type (ie multiplayer, co-op) filters inconsistent

This exciting release of RotorOps introduces the Perks system. Perks is a points and rewards system that brings a new dimension to DCS gameplay. It rewards teamwork in multiplayer. It rewards close air support of friendly troops and vehicles. It gives solo players more control over the battlefield, and creates a deeper gameplay experience, especially for troop transport and logistics roles.

PERKS is a standalone script that can be added to any single player mission or multiplayer server. Most importantly, you can add it to any RotorOps mission with a simple checkbox. The premier reward perk is a Fat Cow FARP. Add a mark to the map, or call the CH-47 to your position to land and establish a FARP for refueling and rearming. Yes, a totally dynamic FARP that you can add anywhere!

And don't miss our new Black Hawk Down mission! This immersive mission was designed to capture the feel of the movie. Give it a shot and get ready for part 2!

Changes:

For users:

  • Added KA-50 III and AV8BNA Harrier to slot selection
  • Changed message in mission generated success dialog
  • Zone protect SAMs now part of 'Advanced Defenses' feature
  • Advanced Defenses is a new feature that adds IR SAMs, MANPADs, and other AA to enemy zones. Being detected by the Dog Ear radar unit will trigger an enemy fighter intercept. Stay below 1000ft AGL and take it out.
  • Late activated friendly/enemy CAP units are placed in mission as a template for Deployed CAP fighters (ie will not be active unless using Advanced Defenses or 'DEPLOY_FIGHTERS' name for radar ground unit)
  • improve idle troop behavior at bases/FARPs

For Mission creators:

  • Updated pydcs library supports new units such as technicals
  • Updated pydcs library supports Falklands map
  • allow troop pickup from HELO_CARRIER
  • enemy units with radar can be designated to deploy intercept fighters on detection (see RotorOps.fighter options in RotorOps.lua for details) with options for min detection altitude and distance (min detection altitude allows helis to fly 'under the radar')
  • Insert RotorOpsServer.lua script and trigger actions if option set in scenario config: rotorops_server: true (if you would like to create templates for the RotorOps MP server)
  • scenario template triggers should now be 'untouched' after mission generation, allowing previously unsupported triggers and actions to be used, along with color coding
  • block adding player helicopters if slots locked in scenario config
  • Added RotorOps.draw_conflict_zones setting to give users the ability to disable or enable displaying of zones on the map.
  • allow disabling spinboxes in scenario config
  • mission ends 10 mins after mission success/fail
  • copy helicopter start type from templates
