I think making this change is coupled to the minimum version of chef this cookbook supports which is currently 12. This change breaks clients < 15.3 if I understand correctly.

I'd like to hold on doing this until we get it properly adopted by Sous Chefs. It's been on my to-do list for a while and had started a clean up locally. |
