This is meant to provide a prêt-à-monter config. It provides initialization files for bash
as well as a configuration file for tmux
the crux of the whole repo is contained in the setup.sh
. Which is meant to provide a way for you to quickly install pretty much everything you might need in order to starting working on a new machine.
- .bashrc
- .bash_profile
- .bash_aliases
- .tmux.conf
- .gitconfig
- setup.sh
The first thing you need to do is upgrade your apt packages as well as upgrade your kernel:
sudo apt update && sudo apt upgrade
Once this runs you'll get a message saying that the kernel patch version should be upgraded and that some services need to be restarted. By default it will restart all services that would allow you to keep the connection open. So in order to remove the leftover services run sudo reboot
, NOTE that you will be logged out immediately.
After the reboot you can start running the setup.sh
file, by running chmod +x setup.sh && ./setup.sh
. You'll need to set the GHTOKEN
before which as it is used to fetch the lua neovim config files from the private repository.
First install nvim
sudo apt update && sudo apt install neovim
Then install npm
sudo apt install npm
Then install node
, this is required to run coc
in neovim
npm install node -g
Once everything is finished copy the .vimrc
file into the $HOME/.vim/
folder, then move the nvim
folder into $HOME/.config/
folder. Then run nvim
and run :CocInstall
which will install all of the plugins in the .vimrc
file.
If everything succeeds, then you are ready to install rust-analyzer
which you'll have to google because this process is changing as you're reading this.
